Meliá opens luxury resort in Dominican Republic
Meliá Hotels International has held the official opening ceremony for the newest of seven properties in the Dominican Republic, the Grand Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real.
The $100-million, 432-room luxury all-inclusive hotel also contains a 144 one and two-bedroom Circle by Meliá membership resort.
On hand for the commemoration were Danilo Medina, President of the Dominican Republic; Francisco Javier Garcia Fernandez, the Dominican Republic Minister of Tourism; Paola Raineri, president of ASONAHORES (National Hotel and Restaurant Association of the Dominican Republic) and Alvaro Tejeda Schroder, Melia Hotels International’s regional vice president for the Americas.

According to Tejeda, the hotel and resort, which together employ 1,000 people, were planned and opened with a sophisticated design that incorporates advanced technologies based on internet use, enabling guests and members access to their resort and room installations around the clock.

The Grand Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real and Circle by Meliá together feature 14 speciality restaurants and bars, the world-class Maia Spa, BLAST! A total of 108 special ground-level Swim-Up Suites have direct access to an exclusive pool, complete with lush garden areas and a solarium.
