Commitment to quality

Now in its sixth year, the Macdonald Hotels & Resorts High Achievers Awards offer individual hotels the opportunity to nominate their outstanding team members to find the highest achieving employee in a range of categories including reception, restaurant and bar, and housekeeping. The ‘High Achievers’ award system recognises and rewards those who have made a concerted effort to develop their skills and knowledge as part of the group’s commitment to offering the highest quality of product and service.

With over 100 staff nominated across the group’s 45 hotels, candidates in all categories underwent a series of rigorous tests to be determined as the overall winner. Along with role specific criteria, nominees were judged knowledge of the group, the delivery of their role and the feedback received from the candidate’s general manager and customers.

Marie Pollock, Training and Development Manager at Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, said: “It has been a fantastic year for Macdonald Hotels & Resorts. Following our AA Hotel Group of the Year win, it is now a pleasure to acknowledge our staff, whose hard work and commitment is integral to the ongoing success of the group.

“The High Achievers Awards were established to encourage our staff to develop their careers, and improve their skills in the knowledge that their efforts will be recognised and rewarded.

“From front of house to food and beverage and back office functions, we are passionate about providing the highest possible standards of training and career development. The High Achievers Awards help us encourage aspirations and reward those who perform at the highest level.”
