BHA

British Hospitality Association logoThe British Hospitality Association (BHA) has been representing the hotel, restaurant and food service catering industry for over 100 years. The Association exists to ensure that the views of the British hospitality industry are represented in a forceful, coherent and coordinated manner to government and policy makers in the UK and internationally, in order that its members' businesses can flourish.

The BHA was established in 1907 as the Incorporated Hotel Keepers Association. In 1910 it merged with a new and entirely separate organisation called Incorporated Association of Hotels and Restaurants, taking on the latter's name. After several other name changes as various hospitality groups joined the Association, in 1971 it merged with the Caterers' Association of Great Britain and, in 1992, was re-named British Hospitality Association.

In 2003 The Restaurant Associaton merged with the BHA to present a united front to Government. The Restaurant Association retains its own identity as a trading division of the BHA and is a key part of the association, existing to promote the interests of all restaurant businesses irrespective of size, location and ethnic style.

Today the BHA is supported by some of the industry's top independent restaurateurs, such as Prue Leith and Robert Carrier, the RAGB - later The Restaurant Association, which merged with the BHA in 2003. The Restaurant Association retains its own identity as a trading division of the BHA.

RCI is a Corporate Partner of the British Hospitality AssociationBHA members have private access to specialist help lines set up to provide important advice and information on a number of different subjects, including legislation, accounts and consultancy services. Members benefit from many special offers and discounts with BHA suppliers and can also reduce costs by using BHA Procurement, an exclusive savings service for members committed to searching out the best deals on energy, telecoms, office supplies and waste disposal & compliance.

RCI became a member of the BHA in 2009 because it recognises the synergies between the operations and businesses of the hospitality industry and the affiliated developers of shared vacation ownership resorts. Like the BHA, RCI is working to engage with organisations that can bring its own associates and affiliated developers every advantage to help support and grow their businesses.

RCI believes that the BHA can contribute a tremendous amount to our own industry, particularly as increasing numbers of hospitality groups are entering the shared ownership market.
